General Election 2024: My Pledges to the People of Stockport

It has been the greatest honour of my life to serve as the Labour MP for Stockport. I am proud of my record of standing up for our town. Since being elected I have supported over 27,000 constituents with issues such as housing, healthcare and education.

The Conservatives have spent fourteen years holding Stockport back. I am asking you to re-elect me as your MP so a Labour government can put things right.

I am dedicated to restoring our crumbling public services, tackling the housing crisis and improving pay and conditions at work. After fourteen years of Conservative chaos, only Labour will create a brighter future for Stockport and Britain.

LABOUR WILL BUILD A STOCKPORT WHERE EVERYBODY PROSPERS

  • Labour will tackle the cost of living crisis by delivering economic growth, improving workplace rights and ensuring that work pays enough to afford a high standard of living.

  • Labour will deliver the biggest boost to affordable housing in a generation, securing the homes that Stockport needs.

  • Labour will create public transport services that are fit for the future. We will renationalise rail, creating a service which puts passengers and our planet first.

  • Labour will rescue Stockport’s NHS, cutting waiting lists, restoring access to GPs and fixing the crisis in NHS dentistry.

  • Labour will reform childcare, early years support and deliver the highest standards in schools to ensure that every child in Stockport can achieve their full potential.

The importance of this general election cannot be overstated. After fourteen years of decline, the people of Stockport have the opportunity to choose a brighter future for our town and our country.

On Thursday 4th July, let’s restore hope, by electing a Labour government that has the vision and strength to deliver the change that Britain needs.
